Today a special delivery arrived at the front door, a new investment. the new Canon XA20 that was released at NAB only in July of this year (2013). We will use this new equipment as a "B" camera when on shoots and interviews. To record a different angle with no limitations on recording time or hassles with manual focus. Here's a few pics of how well it fits in with the rest of the family.
This week, I'm exploring Hong Kong, and in particular more of the older style, less commercial areas of Hong Kong, including some of the outlying islands of Lantau and Lamma Island.
Today I went exploring along the western side of Hong Kong Island, with 2 of my cousins who live in the city, Nick and Victoria, they were helping me carry some things and talk to the locals to just let them know we were filming them and if there were any issues. Here's some photos from the morning as we walked around.
Had the chance to use all my new gear at a concert last Saturday night with Gumaroy and his old band Ganga Giri. It was an awesome night, the zacuto viewfinder came in real handy for those tight focal shots, and the h4N and external shotgun mic picked up all the crowd sounds and stage sounds. Once I was in Final Cut Pro X I synced 120 individual clips to the sound file using synchronise clips tool, the program synced every clip perfectly. This made my job so much easier. Video Below
Tomorrow night will mark the first of many events I will have the opportunity of filming, I've got my gear ready, and packed. The event is run by my friend Jeevi the Laughing Chef, who's videos are featured on the site, its his first big event, and I'm super excited to be able to capture the moments. Stay tuned for a promotional video in the next few weeks.
Today I edited together footage my friend Jay and I shot on my new contour plus helmet cam and his go pro camera, the footage was shot on a powder day at Northstar California, we had loads of fun and we all crashed at least once, the powder was super soft, but there were some hidden obstacles. I will be back in full work mode the week starting 27th February.
Hi everyone, today I'm working with Jeevi. We have created an awesome video to submit for the www.HotRawChef.com cooking competition. We were able to film at a really nice location in Lady Macquarie's Chair overlooking Sydney's beautiful Harbour Bridge and Opera House, the weather was nice with flat light to make it super easy to film without many shadows. Above is the video so you can vote for Jeevi's People's choice award!
